Welcome to our Herndon Hideout ATV Trail House!
We have a beautiful 5 bedroom, 3 bath home with a full kitchen in the middle of the Wild & Wonderful West Virginia Mountains.
There is plenty of parking for ATV riders and their trailers along with cameras looking at the parking areas. You can literally park your truck, take your ATV's off of the trailer and not have to put them back on until you leave.
Trails Nearby: We are in the heart of the Outlaw Trails. Just seconds from the house you can be on the trails. You can be on the Hatfiled and McCoy's Pinnacle Creek, Indian Ridge, Pocahantas and Warrior Trails within 15 minutes or so. All are within riding distance. There is a variety of what type of trails you can find nearby, muddy, rocky, scenic, mountaintop, hill climbs or just smooth and beautiful all around us. Some popular attractions nearby on the trails are the Train Tressels, Beer Can Alley, Flag Rock, and the View. There are also plenty of options for places to stop and eat or get fuel along the way. We will include recommendations in the Welcome binder we have at the house for you. It will include the phone numbers and addresses. We do recommend that you use a satellite GPS to get around as you will NOT have cell service here.
Amentities:
Internet – High speed WIFI is available by connecting your laptop or mobile device to the network and the password is in the Welcome book and hung around the house.
*Due to inclement weather or obstacles out of our way the Internet may go down on occasion. Please try to reboot the router (under the TV in the living room) if it does not come back on its own after a bit. If that does not work, there may be an outage. Typically, outages do not last very long but on occasion they have lasted a few days.
TV - The house is supplied with two television sets. The main living space has a 40” Smart TV with Roku, and the master bedroom has a 32” Smart TV with Roku. There is 1 remote for each tv. You have the option of watching Roku TV or you can sign into your own Netflix or Hulu accounts. Just be sure to sign out before leaving.
Trash Service –Please make sure to place bagged trash only in the trash bin, no loose trash please. Trash collection is every Thursday morning.
Washer/Dryer – The house does provide a washer and dryer for guest usage. Please use at your own risk. The owners are not responsible for any damage done including fading, tearing, etc.
Coffee Bar- a Coffee pot is provided along with some coffee items, tea, and hot chocolate (seasonally). Please help yourself.
Dishwasher – There is a dishwasher for your use. Please load before you leave.
Stove/Oven/Microwave – The house does have a Stove/Oven/Microwave. Please clean after use.
Fire Place – The fire place is non-functioning. Please DO NOT use the Fire Place.
Fire Pit – The house does a Fire Pit located in the back yard of the house. The fire pit is to be used at your own risk and please use responsibly. Keep the fire small and contained at all times.DO NOT use the fire pit if the area is extremely dry and there is a high fire hazard.
Outdoor Furniture – The house does have some outdoor chairs and tables for your use. Please be sure to bring them back onto the back porch before you leave.
Darts – We do have a dart board. Please use at your own risk.
Grill – We do have a charcoal grill available for your use. You will have to provide your own charcoal. Please be courteous and clean it out after you’ve used it.
Security Cameras – We have 4 outdoor security cameras looking at the parking areas, front, and back doors
Please let us know if you notice anything that is missing, broken, or not working so that we are able to correct that ASAP. Also, if you have any recommendations on anything you think we are missing send us a message. We want our guests to have a great time, and want you to come back again, so we love feedback.
Check-In Instructions
Check-In time is at 3pm. If you would like to check in earlier, please message us and we will see if it is possible to accommodate this. We do have guests who sometimes are checking out on the same day you are checking in and this makes it impossible to check in early.
- You will receive an email asking for a code to use for the front door key pad lock. This is the code you will use for your entire stay. This code is activated just shortly before check in time and deactivated at your check-out time on the last day of your stay. **Please be sure to check your SPAM emails as it's possible it ends up there when we ask for it.
- Please walk around the house and check for cleanliness and make sure everything is up to your standards. If there is anything out of place please let us know within the first 8 hours of your stay.
Check-Out Instructions
- Check-Out is at 10am
- Turn the thermostat down to 60º in the winter months and 78º in the summer
- Lock ALL the doors/windows (there are bars in any sliding doors/windows, just make sure they are still in place if you happened to have removed them)
- Rear screened in porch has two exterior doors to lock and then two doors that come into the house. One goes into the mud room, and one goes into a bedroom, please lock them all including the front door
- Please leave used towels and sheets (including pillow cases) on the laundry room floor*leave the comforters on the beds
- Any dirty dishes can just go into the dishwasher and turned on to wash
- Please place all bagged trash into trash bin on the side of the house for pickup. *Do not place any loose trash in the bins as the trash company will only take the bags.Trash is picked up Thursday mornings.
